Sleep

Something we haven't done on a regular basis since before Christmas. MLD related sleep issues are way worse than newborn sleep issues, and way worse than our worst nights of attachment related sleep issues. Between 8:45 and 9:45 last night, I think Eden had woken up 5 times, maybe more, and that's the way the entire night continued. In three months, I think I have gotten 2 or 3 decent nights of sleep. The doctor thinks she is having nerve pain, and we know she is having muscle spasms. We have known that since before she left the hospital, but, for whatever reason, he didn't think he needed to prescribe her anything. Until yesterday, when I figured out who I needed to talk to to help this girl feel better and sleep. Even a few hours at a time would be wonderful!! But, of course, when the medicine was called in, W@lm@art neglected to tell them they were out of the medicine. So we have to wait until today to see if it works.

Please pray for sleep. She has been laying beside me now for 2 hours, even after giving her strong pain medicine that would knock me out, and hasn't been able to go back to sleep after sleeping a total of MAYBE 2 hours all night.

  1. Oh dear, praying for some sleep for both of you. My dear hubby has suffered with nerve pain and it is so frustrating! I'm so sorry ~ I hope the meds can help Eden have a restful sleep tonight. Sleep deprivation is so hard on everyone.

  2. I wish I lived nearby and could come over some nights and take care of Eden while you get some sleep! Sleep deprivation is so hard. I'm praying the meds will work so that both of you can get some much needed rest!
